8th Annual Open Arms Gala – June 6th!
“Committed to making a positive difference!” – A fun evening and a wonderful cause!
Rotaract Blue Cayman Islands, a leadership and community service-based organization, is proud to be holding its 8th Annual Open Arms Award Gala on 6 June 2015 at Luca Restaurant. Recognising an unmet need to provide support for and recognise individuals in our community with special needs, the gala, part of our Open Arms Programme, was born. The vision of the Open Arms Programme is to enhance society’s understanding of persons with special needs and the Open Arms Award Gala is a fundamental element in realizing this long-standing vision.
The evening celebrates the lives of parents, caretakers, educators and others in the local community who work extremely hard to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by recognizing and awarding outstanding individuals. The event also shines the spotlight on persons who have excelled despite their disability, and allows the community to nominate individuals with special needs for a number of specific awards.
To support a number of organizations in our community who are dedicated to enriching lives of those with special needs, namely The Lighthouse School, Special Needs Foundation Cayman, Maple House, Sunrise Adult training centre, and Special Olympics Cayman Islands, Rotaract Blue donates all proceeds of the gala equally to these five beneficiaries.
