Wedding flowers cost more in the Cayman Islands because nothing is grown here. Every stem has to travel to the island before it can reach your wedding day.
It is one of the questions we hear most from couples, so we sat down to answer it properly. In the latest episode of Channel C, our Founder and Creative Director Jo-Anne Brown, Special Events Planner Natasha and General Manager Mary Ann share what really goes into getting fresh flowers to your celebration, and how to create a beautiful look on any budget.

The flowers in your bouquet and centrepieces start their journey on farms in Holland, Canada, the US, Ecuador and Colombia. From there they are shipped by air freight to Grand Cayman.
When they land, every box is inspected by agriculture before it is released to us. Flowers are also kept cold the whole way to stay fresh. Each of these steps adds to the cost before a single arrangement is made.

Flowers are ordered from the farms by the box, not by the stem. If your design calls for 20 peonies, we may need to order a full box to get them.
That is why a small change to your flower list can make a bigger difference to the price than you might expect. Colours can also vary from what was ordered, which is why our team plans with a little flexibility built in.
Sometimes a box of flowers does not make it through the agriculture inspection. It can happen even days before a wedding.
When it does, our in-house floral team acts fast to keep your day on track. In the episode, Jo-Anne, Natasha and Mary Ann share how they handle it behind the scenes.

Flowers are often what guests remember most, so it is worth planning them well. The good news is that a stunning design does not have to mean the most expensive stems.
Orchids and peonies are two of the most requested flowers, and they are also among the priciest. Our team can suggest smart alternatives that give you a similar look for less. Share your budget with us early and we will design around it, not against it.
Giving us at least a month lets us order the right flowers for the season, plan around minimum orders and leave time for anything unexpected. It also gives our team time to prep before setting up on site in the Cayman heat.
